Flip the switch
Sharing stays on for as long as you want it on, invitation only and by name. The app shows when it is a good moment to charge. Switched off again whenever you want, even mid-afternoon.

They charge, you keep the credit
Every shared kWh is metered by the MID meter in your charge point and paid out quarterly.
Share charging starts with customers of our dynamic energy partners; we begin with Tibber and add more from there. Rollout is street by street, in beta, with pioneers who help shape it.

Why this works. Every shared kilowatt-hour generates a Dutch renewable energy credit (ERE) of roughly €0.15 gross, and we take no service fee on shared kWh. Your own electricity comes off that. Net metering for solar ends on 1 January 2027, so exporting your own solar will be worth a couple of cents, while putting it into a neighbour's car is worth around €0.13 net per kWh.
What public charging costs
€0.46 per kWh, and where it goes.
A public charge point in the Netherlands averages about €0.46 per kWh: electricity €0.09, energy tax €0.09, VAT €0.08, grid fees €0.03, hardware and installation €0.05, operations €0.05, charge card and roaming €0.05, operator margin €0.02. The renewable credit on that session, around €0.15, is booked by the operator, not by you. Charging at a neighbour's removes every one of those layers.

What is share charging?
Share charging means opening your own home charge point to people you invite: a neighbour without a driveway, a friend, or your son or daughter visiting. They plug in and pay nothing. You keep the renewable energy credit that every shared kilowatt-hour generates.

Why can my neighbour charge for free?
Every kWh that goes from your connection into an EV generates a Dutch renewable energy credit (ERE), currently worth around €0.15 per kWh. On shared kWh we charge no service fee at all, so the credit covers the electricity your guest used.

Does it cost me anything?
At most about one euro per charge, and often nothing. A guest usually takes around 12 kWh, three hours at 16 amps. On a fixed rate of €0.25 that leaves 9 cents per kWh, so €1.08 for that charge. On a dynamic tariff daytime electricity drops below the credit and it costs you nothing.

How is this different from other sharing apps?
Other apps put a price between you and your neighbour, usually €0.30 to €0.50 per kWh, plus a fee for the app of anything from a few cents per kWh up to 15%. Here your guest pays nothing and we charge 0% on what you share. Your reward is the credit on those kilowatt-hours, in full. Letting your guest pay is deliberately not possible.

Who can charge at my place?
Only the people you invite by name. Sharing stays on for as long as you want it on, and the same switch turns it off. The app shows you and your guests when it is a good moment, the hours when all-in electricity costs less than the credit. That is advice, not a lock. Your address stays private until you send an invitation, and you can see who charged in every session.

Do guests need a charge card?
No. A free account and your invitation are enough. Your guest announces the session in the app, plugs in, and the session is matched to them automatically. No card, no subscription, no settling up afterwards.

Will my charge point work?
It needs a factory-fitted MID meter and a connection to the platform. More than 25,000 charge points in the Netherlands already qualify, and most connect over the cloud without an installer.
